Bacterial infections are caused by bacteria which are living things that have only one cell. 1,000 could fit across a pencil eraser. Less than 1% of the different types make people sick and many are helpful. Infectious bacteria can make you sick. Infectious bacteria include streptococcus, staphylococcus, and E. coli (Escherichia coli).[1]
72% of ME/CFS patients report that a bacterial or a viral infection was their onset of ME/CFS.[2]
