Ancestry is a family history and genealogy website that also provides straight-to-consumer genetic testing. Ancestry DNA mails saliva collection kits, which customers then return and wait for their DNA testing results. Results can then be downloaded.
Cost and availability[edit | edit source]
The basic service gives you only file of data, plus information on your likely genetic heritage by country / region. There are additional costs to have the data analyzed / interpreted, for example to let you know of genetic illness risk factors, likely medication responses or if you have the MTHFR gene mutation.
