Wiskott-Aldrich Syndrome Protein Family Member 3
From MEpedia, a crowd-sourced encyclopedia of ME and CFS science and history
(Redirected from WASF3)
WASF3 or WAVE3 or Wiskott-Aldrich Syndrome Protein Family Member 3 is a protein-encoding gene which has been implicated in chronic fatigue including the fatigue and exertion intolerance found in ME/CFS.
Function[edit | edit source]
WASF3 possibly regulates brain cytokines involved in the fatigue through the p38 MAPK regulatory pathway.[1]
ME/CFS[edit | edit source]
In 2023, a Centers for Disease Control study by Wang et al. reported that over-expression of WASF3 may contribute to exercise intolerance in patients with ME/CFS.[2]
Notable studies[edit | edit source]
