Cromolyn sodium

Cromolyn sodium is an anti-inflammatory medication known for its effect on mast cell stabilization. This medication is prescribed for mastocytosis and mast cell activation disorder (MCAD). Available over the counter as eye drops or nasal spray for allergy sufferers and orally for systemic benefit by prescription.

mastocytosis - A type of mast cell disease in which chronic symptoms are related to overproduction or over-accumulation of mast cells. Not to be confused with Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS), where there are normal numbers of mast cells, but abnormal activity.
