Ashwagandha is a plant in the nightshade family. It's roots are used as a herb in Ayurvedic medicine.[1][2] It is considered an adaptogen and is a source of flavonoids.[2]

Antibacterial and antifungal[edit | edit source]

Ashwagandha extracts have been found to work against candida albicans fungus (root), E. coli (leaf and root), proteus aeruginosa (root), and proteus mirabilis (flower, leaf, stem and root) bacteria.[2]
