Any objection if this page "MEpedia article outlines" is renamed to "MEpedia:Article outlines"?
Since this page is about the MEpedia project itself, it really should belong in the MEpedia namespace. ("MEpedia:")

Agree! Canele (talk) 19:31, 19 March 2019 (EDT)
What do you say Pyrrhus, shall I just go ahead and make some of these moves to put things a bit more in order? I don't really see any harm in it, and better to do sooner than later (so future links can target the right page). Canele (talk) 20:04, 26 March 2019 (EDT)
Fine with me! I was going to wait until 18 april, to give a 30-day comment period, but be my guest.
Here are the pages I have targeted:
MEpedia:Article_outlines, Suggestions renamed to MEpedia:Suggested_tasks, MEpedia:How_to_contribute, Science Guidelines, Editorial Guidelines
Oh, and by the way, I am planning to break up the How to Contribute page into two pages as discussed, in the next couple of days.
(The 30-day comment period on that expired yesterday.)
Cheers! Pyrrhus (talk) 20:28, 26 March 2019 (EDT)
Sounds great--I had broached the issue in January or February as well and haven't found anyone to object so I think it's for the best. I see some you've started--thank you! I'll hop in as well. Canele (talk) 22:26, 26 March 2019 (EDT)

Categories[edit source | reply | new]

Why have wanted pages in a subject column instead of several? On small screens this means a lot of scrolling and looks untidy / off-putting. I think using the Main article template is also a better idea than a message saying "an article called ... may exist" since that wording would need editing every time. With the page name, it wouldn't be the same as the article name since category names are plural and article names aren't. notjusttired (talk) 07:40, 26 April 2019 (EDT) notjusttired (talk) 07:40, 26 April 2019 (EDT)

Makes sense. I think we should do whatever will be clearest and easiest for new users using the article outlines. Using the ‘Main Article’ template might lead new users to assume that every category needs a main article, even though most categories do not? Whatever is easiest for new users. Thanks for pointing this out.

I've done that, plus set the stubs to inline (horizontal list), as I've seen in older categories. Saves a lot of scrolling effort. Category name is now automatically put in the template for stubs notjusttired (talk) 17:55, 27 April 2019 (EDT)
Thanks, Njt! I just realized that I have not been manually substituting the word CATEGORY_NAME, so there may be some categories out there without a working stub list? Oops!

I was doing the same! When the ReplaceText extension is around that's one of the things it could be used to fix. I think I missed some article names though so will need to do those manually. notjusttired (talk) 18:52, 2 May 2019 (EDT)
