ME North East

From MEpedia, a crowd-sourced encyclopedia of ME and CFS science and history

ME North East is a British patient charity which provides advice and support for British ME/CFS sufferers and their families in the North East and North Cumbria. They are based in Chester-le-Street in County Durham.

The charity has 4 employees and up to 30 active volunteers. They are directed by a board of 11 trustees.[1]

Aims[edit | edit source]

ME North East aims to deliver support, help, understanding and information to all people with ME/CFS their families and carers. They aim to empower people to make informed choices and work in partnership with statutory services to enable access to services. They also support research into the cause and cure of this disease.[2]

ME North East became a Charity and Company Limited by Guarantee in 2012. Their registered charity number is 1147821. They have also received funding from the Big Lottery Fund as well as BBC's Children in Need.[1]
