It is estimated that there are approximately 300,000 people living with ME/CFS in Japan.[1] A 2014 ME/CFS patient survey conducted by the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labor, and Welfare concluded that approximately 30% rated in the severe illness category and 35% in the moderate illness category.[2]
