Talk:Michael VanElzakker
In reference to his quote of CBT.
In addition to CBT not being a treatment for CFS itself, even the disease makes the thought processes extremely difficult and using cognition exacerbates all symptoms. THAT is like no other disease.--DxCFS (talk) 14:36, 30 June 2016 (PDT) (Forgot to sign/time stamp earlier.)
I agree with you and have to admit (maybe because of cognitive impairment) that I never thought about it that way. I included that CBT quote by Dr. VanElzakker because he wrote me and requested it be included to clarify why he teaches psychology classes: "If I may, this could go in the "quotes" section, many are thrown off that I teach psych classes." I actually think his #VNIH is correct AND I also do understand his quote and why he would state this AND that he is one of the few in his field that understands what the patients are going through. I know he does not promote exercise for the treatment of the disease either. Also, it is only being sick for more than 35 years and the last few years finding more and more accurate information on the disease that I was able to even put into words what I experience cognitively. --DxCFS (talk) 14:36, 30 June 2016 (PDT)
