Is "Leaky gut diet" really an entity unto itself? -- EscapeTheFog (talk) 15:20, June 30, 2019 (EDT)[edit source | reply | new]
I spent a few minutes searching and couldn't find any specific diet known as "Leaky gut diet". It's definitely the case that several foods and supplements have been proposed as beneficial for leaky gut. But as far as I can tell, nobody has assembled the proposed items into a full diet that has become known by the name "Leaky gut diet". As such, I think the foods and supplements listed in this page are better suited as part of a "Potential treatments" section of the Intestinal permeability / Leaky gut pages.
What do others think?

- Maybe we could just say that there is no single “leaky gut diet”, but the following dietary recommendations have been made by different people... The benefit of including these dietary recommendations on this page is that this page has been added to the “Potential treatments” category. When a page is added to the “Potential treatments” category, the page is automatically branded with a “This is a potential treatment” banner, in the same way that adding a page to the “Medical hypotheses” category automatically brands the page with a “This is a medical hypothesis” banner. These banners indicate to the reader that a slightly lower standard of evidence is used on the page.

- User:EscapeTheFog User:Pyrrhus I think there might be one. The proper name for leaky gut is intestinal perminability, some links here myths and facts NHS that are worth covering. It's certainly a popular topic on forums so I think worth keeping, if only a a basic resource / stub stating lack of evidence. The "potential treatments" category will do the banner heading automatically. Also, we have everything weird and not-so-wonderful covered. I am a bit skeptical about coffee enemas ever having a clinic trial myself (!) but we have a page for it. notjusttired (talk) 16:33, July 1, 2019 (EDT)
