Nicholas Higgins

J. Nicholas P. Higgins is a consultant neuroradiologist and interventional radiologist at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge, United Kingdom.

Higgins attended Oxford University and Guy’s Hospital Medical School.

Career[edit | edit source]

In 1997, Higgins became a consultant neuroradiologist and interventional neuroradiologist at Addenbrooke’s Hospital Cambridge.

He is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of London and the Royal College of Radiologists.

In 2002 he published the first case of idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH) treated by stenting the transverse venous sinuses. His recent research investigates possible connections between IIH, spontaneous intracranial hypotension, Chiari malformation, syringomyelia, chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia.
