This category contains pages with citations that have extra unnecessary text in them. For example, a book citation may ask for the edition of the book. If you provide "second", then the citation will display "second ed.". But if you provide "second ed.", then the citation will display "second ed. ed.". This is what is meant by "extra unnecessary text".
