Gamma-linolenic acid (GLA) is an omega 6 fatty acid found in vegetable oils. While there is little or no evidence for the benefit of GLA in human disease, GLA produces no leukotrienes and inhibits the conversion of arachidonic acid to leukotrienes.[citation needed]
