Geoffrey was completing a PhD entitled Persons with ME/CFS: An Examination of Health Issues and Relationships with Social Institutions in Australia at Southern Cross University, under supervision by Dr. Rosanne Coutts and Dr. Yvonne Hartman.   He commenced his PhD in 2004.   Since 2013 he has been on hiatus.   He has presented a number of abstracts at the IACFSME Conferences is 2011 (Ottawa), 2014 (San Francisco) and 2016 (Fort Lauderdale) which covered a broad range of social and legal issues.
