A viral infection are caused by viruses which are tiny germs. They are made of genetic material inside of a protein coating. They can cause infectious diseases such as the common cold, flu, and warts and severe illnesses such as HIV/AIDS, smallpox, and Ebola.[1]

72% of ME/CFS patients report that a bacterial or a viral infection was their onset of ME/CFS.[2]
