PACE trial[edit | edit source]

  • On April 4, 2016, The Centre for Welfare Reform released a 64-page report In the Expectation of Recovery - Misleading Medical Research and Welfare Reform, written by George Faulkner which outlines how the PACE trial had an impact on disability in the UK. This "powerful report usefully describes many of problems with the PACE research and explores its impact in relation to debates about welfare reform."[2]
  • August 19, 2016, Major breakthrough on PACE trial in on the August, 2016 rejection of the appeal brought by Queen Mary University of London which spent £204,787 on outside legal advice for just this one Tribunal; the history of Freedom of Information Requests on "recovery" results claimed by the PACE trial; and some of the pithy quotes by several Professors including the poignant and succinct "This study is a piece of crap." ~ David Tuller.[3]

The Centre for Welfare Reform has republished the article by Mo Stewart From the British Welfare State to Just Another American State which examines the connections between welfare reforms and bogus research.[5]
