Add other studies, eg re pain? http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/m/pubmed/?term=Fibromyalgia+naltrexone If so add to pain page also Olliec (talk) 06:00, 13 December 2015 (PST) ==Sources for citations needed == *Rather than risk an edit conflict, here is a source for taking LDN in the morning to avoid insomnia http://crohnsend.com/documents/ldn_improves_crohns_2007.pdf PMID 17222320 Low-dose naltrexone therapy improves active Crohn's disease * Tablet / capsule sizes can be referenced from drugs.com notjusttired (talk) 10:55, 2 February 2019 (EST) ==Medical advice== I feel some of the page is too close to specific medical advice and isn't based on a common consensus or FDA / manufacturer info etc. I think they expiry date should go - it will say on each pack and there's no guarantee it will be supplied with this expiry length. On dosing I think we should remove numbered doses and specific advice about when to step up and by how much. There's nothing on the Dr Whitaker link covering this or any dosing regime. LDN book does not go into dosing. notjusttired (talk) 10:55, 2 February 2019 (EST) :This information goes into the step up program under the heading "What dose of Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN) is best? Cite this? https://collierdrug.com/low-dose-naltrexone-ldn/ :If the full dose is taken you will go into insomnia and will probably stop the LDN--MEandCFS (talk) 11:47, 2 February 2019 (EST) Moved here until we get some sort of doctor or pharmacist approved method on how to step up. This is basically what my pharmacist said to do but until we have something in writing we should not post this process.--MEandCFS (talk) 12:28, 2 February 2019 (EST) ===DO NOT FOLLOW THIS ADVICE, INFORMATION MOVED HERE OFF OF MAIN LDN PAGE AS IT IS MEDICAL ADVICE=== ::Start Low, Go Slow ::Begin with a small dose of 0.5-1.5mg (eg 1/3 of 3mg capsule = 1mg). ::Gently twist the capsule open, remove the required amount of powder. ::Put powder into a small amount of water, stir well and drink immediately. ::Alternatively, place the powder on a teaspoon and swallow. ::If the LDN keeps you awake, try a lower dose (eg 0.5mg) ::If you have strong side-effects, try a micro-dose (eg 0.1mg or less) ::After 1-2 weeks, if there are no adverse effects, step up the dose (eg add 1mg). ::Repeat every 1-2 weeks until you reach your ideal dose - ie maximum benefit, minimal side-effects.--MEandCFS (talk) 12:28, 2 February 2019 (EST)
