== Emerge Australia - name confusion -- ~Njt (talk) 23:22, October 19, 2021 (UTC) == The Andrew Bretherton on the board at Emerge Australia is described as having 40 years of work experience so clearly not the same Andrew Bretherton that this article is about.Emerge's Andrew Bretherton β Secretary A banking lawyer with over 40 years experience ~Njt (talk) 23:22, October 19, 2021 (UTC) ===Re: Emerge Australia - name confusion -- Andyroo11 (talk) 09:55, October 21, 2021 (UTC)=== : Replace this text with your reply This is quite obviously a different person to the younger Andrew Bretherton mentioned on the mepedia page "Andrew Bretherton" the emerge board member and lawyer is a different person as you can clearly see here: https://www.tglaw.com.au/corporate/staff/andrew-bretherton/. both have worked with emerge and the MEpedia article states clearly what positions the younger Andrew held. ==Date confusion and sources== Sources are needed to clarify Andrew's timeline and voluntary work. * Article states he was diagnosed in 2015, but Insight articles online states early 2016. * More sources about Andrew written by others are needed, including organizations he represents at certain events or has an official ir unofficial role in, e.g. Tom and Mia's legacy, 88 and counting, Victorian Greens. ~Njt (talk) 23:22, October 19, 2021 (UTC) ===Re: Date confusion and sources -- Andyroo11 (talk) 10:04, October 21, 2021 (UTC)=== The article you linked has no mention of diagnosis date. no statement of 2016. MEpedia page has links to the far from home book where Andrew is mentioned as working for tom and mias legacy and links to the inquiry into the horticultural award where 88days and counting are mention and lists Andrew by name. ::Hi. The article is from 2018 and says you are diagnosed "about two years ago" which would be 2016. Can you find a better source for the date and add it? For references, don't add external links in the text, use the Cite toolbar option and add the link there, see MEpedia:Referencing for beginners for referencing info. Far from home's link was just a book description so didn't mention you (references need to contain the information so others following the link can check it so with books that means page numbers). ::When you reply on talk pages, please use the
:
symbol to indent your reply, only use headings for new topics instead. Add your signature and the date automatically using 4 ~ symbols:
~Njt (talk) 04:49, October 25, 2021 (UTC)
. See MEpedia:Discussion and collaboration. ::Page content needs to follow the MEpedia standards, and be encyclopedia-like, so a short overview of what's relevant to ME. See other advocate pages for examples. Pages about people should not read like a CV so job / voluntary work history should be mentioned where relevant rather than listed separately. See Robin Brown and Tom Kindlon for examples. There is more flexibility in what you add to your personal page User:Andyroo11 (click the link to create yours). ::I hope these links will be useful. ~Njt (talk) 04:49, October 25, 2021 (UTC) MEpedia referencing. ==Neutrality == We can't state that certain things did happen or were abusive without independent verification, so wording for these may need changing e.g. Andrew has spoken publicly about undergoing graded exercise therapy... Andrew described his early medical treatment as abusive, etc. Any further sources by others backing this up would be a great help. See also pages on the :Category:Ethics - some Australian evidence would be very welcome there. ~Njt (talk) 23:22, October 19, 2021 (UTC) ===Re: Neutrality -- Andyroo11 (talk) 10:09, October 21, 2021 (UTC)=== : Replace this text with your reply andrews statements on the abuse are linked in the mepedia page. both ME australia articles and Insight program the page itself says "where Andrew said" so it's andrew's point of view ::I think I'm happy with most of the page wording (unless I missed something). It's not obvious to a lot of readers that psychiatric treatments would be harmful or abusive or that attempting a cure for an incurable disease might be harmful, so this would be better rephrased. Adding references (using Cite) from other pages showing those treatments are harmful can be used on this page to help readers understand. Any references to the Disability system in Australia explaining issues linked to ME/CFS would be useful too. The Access to benefits page focuses on US mostly. ~Njt (talk) 04:58, October 25, 2021 (UTC)
