Speech difficulties are reported by people with ME/CFS and include word-finding problems and other language difficulties.

Prevalence[edit | edit source]

  • 2001, In a Belgian study, 31.8% of patients meeting the Fukuda criteria and 36.2% of patients meeting the Holmes criteria, in a cohort of 2073 CFS patients, reported speech difficulties.[1]

Symptom recognition[edit | edit source]

Slowed speech is one of the examples of neurocognitive symptoms in the International Consensus Criteria.[2]
