Social media has become important for advocacy, informational exchange, and support regarding ME/CFS, particularly such websites as Facebook and Twitter.

Facebook groups[edit | edit source]

As of March 2019, there were over 70 different Facebook groups devoted to myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME) or chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS). These groups were based on common interests, perspectives, geographical location, age, gender, comorbidities, symptom severity, and other factors. Membership in these groups range from just a couple hundred to over 20,000 people.[1]
