Sjögren's syndrome (pronounced SHOW-grins) is an autoimmune syndrome in which the body's immune system attacks the body's saliva and tear glands.[1]

Symptoms[edit | edit source]

The two main symptoms of Sjogren's syndrome are:[1]

Other symptoms may include:[2]

  • Joint pain, swelling and stiffness
  • Swollen salivary glands — particularly the set located behind your jaw and in front of your ears
  • Skin rashes or dry skin
  • Vaginal dryness
  • Persistent dry cough
  • Prolonged fatigue
