Porphyria

Poryphyrias are a group of metabolic diseases that are sometimes misdiagnosed as fibromyalgia or multiple chemical sensitivity (MCS).[1][2] Types of porphyrias include:

  • Acute intermittent porphyria
  • ALA-D porphyria
  • Aminolevulinate dehydratase deficiency porphyria
  • Autosomal erythropoietic protoporphyria
  • Congenital erythropoietic porphyria
  • Hepatoerythropoietic porphyria
  • Hereditary coproporphyria
  • Porphyria cutanea tarda
  • Protoporphyria
  • Variegate porphyria[1][3]
