Music therapy in combination with cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) has been proposed as a potential treatment for chronic fatigue.[1] There is no research on music therapy in addition to CBT for the treatment of chronic fatigue syndrome.[1]

Evidence[edit | edit source]

In 2020, a Norwegian group published two papers about the treatment effectiveness of music therapy with CBT for ME/CFS in teenagers.[1][2]

Criticism[edit | edit source]

Public health advocate David Tuller contacted the BMJ Paediatrics Open journal to express concern about the publication of a music therapy study for chronic fatigue syndrome, pointing out that the journal's open peer reviews showed that one reviewer had not even read the full manuscript prior to publication, and contacted the study authors to raise a number of key concerns.[3][4]
