MillionsMissing Deutschland (MillionsMissing Germany) was founded in 2018.[1] It's a German affiliate group of The MEAction Network and partner of the German Association for ME/CFS. MillionsMissing Germany is run by a network of dedicated volunteers.

Aims[edit | edit source]

Its aim is to work towards health equity for people with Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME).[2]

Events[edit | edit source]

In May 2018 MillionsMissing Germany organized #MillionsMissing protests in Berlin and Gütersloh and supported a third one, hosted by the Lost Voices Foundation in Hannover.[3]

In May 2019 MillionsMissing Germany organized #MillionsMissing protests in Berlin, Munich and Halle (Saale). Later that month a protest in front of the German Bundestag (national parliament) took place.[4]

MillionsMissing Germany organized a Kudoboard for the health policy spokeswoman of the Green Party Maria Klein-Schmeink, who made an inquiry about ME/CFS in the Bundestag. The Kudoboard contained over 150 messages from pwME and was presented in printed form in the Bundestag.[5]

Together with the German Association for ME/CFS and MP Martina Stamm-Fibich, MillionsMissing Germany organized the first Parliamentary Expert Discussion on ME/CFS in the Bundestag in March 2020.[6]

Due to the corona crisis in 2020, MillionsMissing Germany had to cancel the #MillionsMissing visibility actions in nine cities and organized a postcard campaign to health minister Jens Spahn and other politicians instead.[7]

MillionsMissing Germany organizes screenings of the documentary Unrest together with the German Association for ME/CFS.
