Isabel Barao-Silvestre, aka Isabel Barao, Ph.D., is a cancer immunologist[1] and a Research Assistant Professor of Microbiology and Immunology at University of Nevada Reno, Nevada, US.[2] She is researching the causes of abnormal NK cell functioning in ME/CFS patients and its use as a potential biomarker for ME/CFS.[1]

From 2013 to 2015, Barao-Silvestre worked as the Scientific Director of Simmaron Research, Incline Village, Nevada.[3]

In 2016, Barao-Silvestre was awarded a grant from Solve ME/CFS Initiative Ramsay Award Program for the project, “The Bioenergetic Health Index of NK Cells as a Diagnostic Tool for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.”[4][5] in 2017, she was awarded a grant from the National Institute Of Allergy And Infectious Diseases for "Risk of CFS Due to IgG Receptor Genes that Impair ADCC."[6]
