In vivo studies

In vivo studies refers to research using a whole, living organism.[1] This might be an animal or a human, or any other type of living organism.[1]
This is typically contrasted to in vitro studies (experiments performed in a controlled environment that is not the living organism) and, more recently, to in silico studies, meaning studies performed on a computer or by computer simulation.[1]
