Human papillomavirus or HPV refers to a group of viruses. Infection with a HPV virus may go away by itself, may cause no symptoms or may cause warts on the skin.[1] Many types of HPV are sexually transmitted, and some of these like HPV 16 and HPV 18 cause cervical cancer or other serious diseases.[1]
