Elisa Perego PhD first used the term Long COVID in May 2020 to describe a pattern of Long term symptoms occurring after COVID-19.[1] She became an advocate for people with Long COVID after she developed the illness in 2020.[1] Elisa Perego is an Honorary Research Associate at University College London, UK and most of her work focuses on archaeology, social marginality, inequality and social change in the late prehistoric and early Roman central Mediterranean. Most of her recent research focuses on health and disability in relation to Long COVID and COVID-19.[2]
