CXCL9 or C-X-C Motif Chemokine Ligand 9 is a protein-encoding gene.[1] CXCL9 attracts lymphocytes (white blood cells). This antimicrobial gene encodes a protein thought to be involved in T cell trafficking. The encoded protein binds to C-X-C motif chemokine 3 and is a chemoattractant for lymphocytes but not for neutrophils.[citation needed][2] MIG
