Anthony S. Fauci or Tony Fauci has been director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases in the United States since 1984, and is Presidential Coronavirus Task Force Advisor.[1] Dr Fauci oversees research into infectious diseases such as HIV/AIDS, SARS-CoV-2 and other respiratory infections, Lyme disease, malaria, Ebola, Zika, and emerging infectious diseases, and supports research on immune-related illnesses, including autoimmune disorders, asthma and allergies. [1]
Dr Fauci's management of Lyme disease and ME/CFS research and prevention strategies have been criticized by ME/CFS and Lyme disease patient advocates.[2][3]
