Johanna Haas is a former professor of environmental geography, and a current GED (high school equivalency teacher). She was diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome at age 20 in 1992, and later with fibromyalgia. She managed to earn a J.D. from The Ohio State University in 2001 and a Ph.D. in Geography from the same school in 2008. She worked as an assistant professor at Illinois State University for 7 years, until she got too sick to work.
