List of languages -- Njt (talk) 20:48, September 25, 2019 (EDT)[edit source | reply | new]

This is getting overly complicated, and has been edited when I have only just updated to the previous one. I think it best to choose 8-10 languages based on what is likely to very used here - regardless of worldwide use. We already decided on en, es, de, fr, nl. So perhaps zh-hant, zh-hans, no, plus perhaps two others? This page should be here to let us know what to try to support, but also to let users know which languages or variants have the best support if there chosen language isn't covered well. So it's less important to include languages spoken by people who mostly also speak English or languages very similar to each other. Njt (talk) 20:48, September 25, 2019 (EDT)

Agreed. This list is just a guide, not a requirement.

Can you do a summary of which we have chosen to prioritise? In other words which are we adding for all templates? Njt (talk) 06:29, September 28, 2019 (EDT)
These are the language codes I am using: ar, da, de, es, fi, fr, it, ja, nl, no (or nn or nb), pl, pt, ru, sv, vi, zh-hans, zh-hant
But there may be situations where fewer language codes may be applicable. For instance, if there is a template that is rarely used, I might just implement de, es, fr. Njt
