A vegetarian diet involves abstaining from the consumption of meat products. In the most common form of vegetarianism, both animal meat and seafood are avoided, although pescatarians will consume seafood whereas others will also avoid eggs. For the practice of avoiding the consumption of all animal products, see vegan diet.
