Toni Bernhard

Toni Bernhard (Antonia Bernhard), J.D, was the Dean of Students and Faculty Member, University of California, Davis, School of Law, from 1982 to 2004. She is currently disabled with myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS).[1]

ME/CFS[edit | edit source]

Bernhard was diagnosed with an "acute vural infection" in 2001, and has lived with resulting Myalgic Encephalomyelitis ever since. The illness forced Bernhard to quit her career in academia, and she later became an author and blogger.[2]

Bernhard has authored several highly acclaimed books, including the award-winning How To Be Sick: A Buddhist-Inspired Guide for the Chronically Ill and Their Caregivers and How To Live Well with Chronic Pain and Illness.[3]
