Symbioflor-2 is an E. coli (Escherichia coli) probiotic that contains six strains of E. coli.

There is some evidence for its use in the treatment of irritable bowel syndrome.[citation needed]

It has been shown to induce production of human beta-defensin (hBD), a peptide that plays a role in intestinal barrier function.[1]
