Suramin

Suramin or suramin sodium is an antiparasitic drug normally used to treat an African neurological diaease often known as African trypanosomiasis or "Sleeping Sickness".[1] African trypanosomiasis is caused by the trypanosoma brucei parasite, and control effects reduced cases to around 2,000 per year by 2019.[1]

Suramin is not commercially available in the United States or Canada.[2][1]

Evidence[edit | edit source]

Suramin is known to be effective for African trypanosomiasis.[1][2]

ME/CFS[edit | edit source]

Surami is being investigated as a treatment for ME/CFS.[3]
