Roger Cicero was a famous German jazz singer.

Life[edit | edit source]

Roger was born July 6, 1970 and died March 24, 2016.

He began performing at age 11 and later studied at the Hohner conservatory. He continued his study in the Netherlands and established the Roger Cicero Jazz Quartet in 2003. By 2006 he became a household name in Germany for playing in big bands and recapturing their sound of the post-war era.[1]

He participated in the 2007 Eurovision Song Contest.[2] His Eurovision performance of Frauen regier'n die Welt is available here.[3]

Illness[edit | edit source]

Diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) a few years prior to his death, he had to cancel his 2014-15 concert tour The Roger Cicero Jazz Experience. His illness began with CFS and a number of health issues set in which led to an acute case of myocarditis.[1]

Death[edit | edit source]

Roger died from a sudden stroke at age 45. He had suffered from chronic fatigue syndrome for several years.[1]
