Nervous system

The nervous system is the part of an animal's body that coordinates its voluntary and involuntary actions and transmits signals to and from different parts of its body. Neuroinflammation, autonomic nervous system dysfunction, and intracranial hypertension are all thought to contribute to the symptoms of ME. (more...)

Empty sella syndrome is when the pituitary gland shrinks or becomes flattened, filling the sella turcica with cerebrospinal fluid on imaging instead of the normal pituitary. (more...)

Michael Zeineh, MD, PhD, is an Assistant Professor of Radiology at the Stanford University Medical Center. He is board certified in Neuroradiology and Diagnostic Radiology. His medical interests are Neuroradiology, Clinical Functional MRI, and Clinical Diffusion Tensor Imaging. He has performed research in advanced MR imaging of Alzheimer's disease, Epilepsy, Multiple sclerosis, and Parkinson's disease. He worked with Dr. Jose Montoya to investigate brain abnormalities in Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. (more...)
