History[edit | edit source]

Opposing MEGA was founded as a reaction to the MEGA petition, in which a group of researchers attempted to get members of the public to call for greater funding for ME/CFS.[2][1] Despite the biomedical name the researchers and clinicians behind MEGA had a prior history of psychosocial and biopsychosocial research and of ignoring biomedical findings. Patient concern led to organized opposition to the MEGA project, including the development of the Opposing MEGA petition.[1]
