Martina Stamm-Fibich (b. 23 April 1965 in Erlangen-Bruck) is a German politician of the Social Democratic Party (SPD) and member of the Bundestag. Since June 2018 she is Patient Representative of the SPD parliamentary group.

Political statements and action[edit | edit source]

Stamm-Fibich was invited to the first parliamentary expert discussion on ME/CFS in the Bundestag, which was initiated by German Association for ME/CFS and MillionsMissing Germany.[1][2][3] In a following press statement, she acknowledged the urgent need for action towards a better patient care and announced further dialogues in order to sensitize the Federal Ministry of Education and Research to this topic.[4]

In reaction to MillionsMissings postcard campaign to Federal Minister of Health Jens Spahn and other politicians, [5] Stamm-Fibich promised that she and her colleagues would keep working on this topic and that she is in active exchange with relevant actors of ministries and self-administration to achieve tangible success for those affected. Specifically, it was about how the necessary research for ME/CFS can be financed, she wrote.[6]
