MTHFR

MTHFR is short for the enzyme called methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase) or 10-Methylenetetrahydrofolate Reductase or NADPH or NAD(P)H.[1] Sometimes the term MTHFR is also used when referring to the genes that transcribes methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase.

The enzyme catalyzes the conversion of 5,10-methylenetetrahydrofolate to 5-methyltetrahydrofolate, which assists in the production of building blocks for DNA.
