Interleukin 7 or IL7 is a protein produced by the stromal cells in bone marrow and the thymus.

Function[edit | edit source]

Interleukin 7 provides both survival and proliferative signals to IL-7 receptor-bearing (IL-7R+) cells.[1]

Purpose[edit | edit source]

IL7 encodes a protein that is a cytokine important for B cell and T cell development.[2]
