Donald Acheson

Sir Ernest Donald Acheson, D.M., M.R.C.P. (17 September 1926 – 10 January 2010) was a British physician and epidemiologist who served as Chief Medical Officer of the United Kingdom from 1983 to 1991.
In 1959, Acheson published a detailed review of fourteen outbreaks of benign myalgic encephalomyelitis, instructing physicians on the history, signs and symptoms, and potential treatment of the illness.[1]
