A crash or symptoms crash in myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome is a "temporary period of immobilizing physical and/or cognitive exhaustion"[1] resulting from post-exertional malaise.[2]

A crash may also be referred to as a symptoms flare-up, flare or even "collapse".[1][2]
