The biopsychosocial model explains the psychological paradigm, including the concepts behind using cognitive behavioral therapy as a primary treatment for ME/CFS, rather than as an additional therapy only those with depression or anxiety that is secondary to the illness. Many critics of the psychological paradigm are also PACE trial critics.
