Body Politic is was founded as a "queer feminist wellness collective", aiming to promote inclusivity and accessibility, and crucial discussions about wellness, politics, and personal identity. Body Politic's Fiona Lowenstein and Sabrina Bleich launched it's COVID-19 peer support group in 2020.[1][2]

Body Politic's research partner is the Patient-Led Research Collaborative or PLRC, which was co-founded by Body Politic's Gina Assaf, Lisa McCorkell, Hannah Wei, and Hannah Davis.[3]

Body Politic was founded in 2013, with Long COVID patients and Body Politic members Fiona Lowenstein and Sabrina Bleich creating the COVID-19 Support Group in 2020.[1][2]
